Four people have been arrested after an anonymous tip led to the discovery of multiple drugs and paraphernalia.
At approximately 12:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, Boyle County deputies Wren, Abbott and Hopper, along with Mercer County deputies Brown and Prather, acted on an anonymous tip that a vehicle being driven by Dennis Sparrow had heroin inside. The vehicle was reportedly being driven in Harrodsburg, and deputies located it at Reid-Mart in Harrodsburg when they made contact.
Narcotics were observed in plain view and the deputies smelled the odor of marijuana from the vehicle. A search revealed a can of WD-40 which had a bottom that could be unscrewed for storage. Inside the can were several baggies of suspected heroin, marijuana, and other drug paraphernalia items. Another bag of what was suspected to be heroin was located in the back seat, and other drug paraphernalia items were located throughout the vehicle. Deputies also located a notebook containing narcotic transaction information.
None of the vehicle’s occupants claimed the items, and all four were arrested and taken to the Boyle County Detention Center where they were lodged. Those charged were:
• Dennis Ray Sparrow, 40, was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense (heroin); trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 ounces); possession of drug paraphernalia, and operating on a suspended/revoked license.
• Angela Crystal Williams, 40, was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense (heroin); trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 ounces); and possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Kayla A. Baker, 19, was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense (heroin); trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 ounces); and possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Tony Darrell Dearing, 39, was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense (heroin); trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 ounces); possession of drug paraphernalia, and theft of identity without consent. He was also charged in relation to two warrants for parole violation and failure to appear.
