Eddie was a graduate of Boyle County High School and the University of Kentucky where he was a member of the Farmhouse Fraternity. A lifelong member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and a supporter of the Boyle County Schools and athletics, he was also a member of the Danville Kiwanis Club. He proudly served the citizens of Boyle County for 29 years as their P.V.A.

Eddie is survived by his wife, Felicia McCallister Tamme, and stepson, Derrick Wooten, two sisters, Jane (Tom) Stanley and Susan (Gerald) Goodman and three brothers, Theo (Pam) Tamme, Steve (Emma Jean) Tamme, and Joe (Joye) Tamme, and several incredibly loved nieces and nephews. His mother-in-law, Doris McCallister, a sister-in law, Faith (Butch) Clem and brother-in-law, Lance (Brandi) McCallister.

To do Eddie justice, we must mention the twinkle in his eye, his quick wit that kept us all laughing, sometimes dismayed and always on our toes. He had a quiet and powerful spirit with a loving, generous heart that helped friends and engaged strangers. When Eddie walked in, laughter wasn’t far behind.

Eddie showed up for all of us- whether it be for a sporting event or a mundane task. He cheered us on and lifted us up. He made us feel as special as we allowed ourselves to feel. As one friend said, he did not ever make anyone feel less than him. He was Love, Faith, Hope, and Charity.

The funeral mass will be 12 p.m. Wednesday, September 9th, 2020 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. The funeral will be webcast live on Facebook at Ss. Peter & Paul’s and Stith Funeral Home’s page. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday, September 8th at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

The way to truly honor Eddie is not with flowers but to do as he so effortlessly and unselfishly did- help a neighbor in need, or give to charities closest to his heart or one close to yours. CASA of the Bluegrass, Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Danville, Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Harlan or Kiwanis Club of Danville.

Whether you would choose to give to a charity, church or just to give a smile to a friend or a hand to a stranger, Eddie would be so honored you gave with him in your thoughts.

If you choose to attend visitation, please wear a mask and use social distancing. The online guestbook and Hugs from Home are available at www.stithcares.com.
