Dr. Kenneth R. Whitehouse, Sr.

1943-2020

Dr. Kenneth R. Whitehouse, Sr., 77, of Danville, husband of Tina Sanders Whitehouse died Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born June 25, 1943 in Perryville, he was the son of the late Godbey and Beatrice Arnold Whitehouse.

Dr. Whitehouse served six years in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a graduate of Danville High School, Cumberland College and the Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville. 

He was a Baptist Minister for the past 51 years. He retired from Eller’s Memorial Baptist Church and most recently served as Pastor of Benton Baptist Church in Mercer County. 

He led a Sunday School group from Louisville to South Africa and a tour to Israel. He also led Sunday School Conferences across the state for the KY Baptist Convention. 

He enjoyed golf, ham radio, visiting with his children and grandchildren. He loved working with American Legion Post 46, where he served as Chaplain.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his two sons: Kenneth Ray (Pam) Whitehouse, Jr. of Danville and Jeff (Teresa) Whitehouse of Springfield, Illinois; four grandchildren: Madison Whitehouse, Ashley (Evan) Hawks, Tyler (Ellissa) Whitehouse, and Megan Whitehouse; and one special aunt, Crystal Whitehouse. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 11, 2020 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Jeff Whitehouse officiating. Burial will be in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery with Kyle Bailey, David Best, Tony Pinkston, Tony Best, Dennis Whitehouse and Tyler Whitehouse serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the grandchildren: Madison, Ashley, Evan, Ellissa and Megan, and Eddie Montgomery.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 10, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday, September 11, 2020 from 7:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home in Harrrodsburg.
