Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital nurse recognized for extraordinary service

Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital (EMJBHH) is pleased to recognize and honor  Beverly Shifflett, RN, an Emergency Department nurse as one of its nurses for her extraordinary patient care.

A resident of Mercer County, Beverly has been caring for patients at EMJBHH for the past 42 years. She started as a Certified Nursing Assistant in 1975 while still in high school and continued working at Haggin until she obtained her Registered Nurse’s license in 1978. Beverly has worked in most every department in the hospital and even served as the Emergency Department Director for 13 years.

She was nominated for the award by a patient who said, “Beverly’s attitude and bedside manner is over the top. She shows caring for other people and truly loves her patients. She is the full package and Haggin is lucky to have her on staff.”
