The United States has been largely absent in the global response to fight the spread of COVID-19.

The pandemic has devastated communities in low-income countries with weak healthcare systems and a shortage of resources. As a global superpower, it is pertinent that the United States expand its support for our low-income partner countries abroad.

I ask that Kentucky Senators, Mitch McConnell, and Rand Paul, take action and support measures for community prevention plans and contact tracing programs in our low-income partner countries.

Focusing on stopping the spread of COVID-19 in the United States alone, without aiding low-income countries, will only prolong this pandemic. Every human, regardless of where they live, deserves access to high-quality healthcare, and the United States has the power to help make this happen.
