The Boyle County Public Library offers numerous activities for a variety of ages, including fun virtual programs for adults.
This weekend the library will host “Virtual Adult Trivia Night” on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 7 pm. The event is run through the library’s Discord server which allows for fun, friendly social competition from the comfort of home.
Trivia questions are selected from a wide array of topics to give everyone a chance to feel like the smartest person in the room. There will be three timed rounds with five-minute breaks in-between each round.
Participants will be divided into teams upon arrival. Team requests can be made as well. This event is recommended for ages 18 and up.
Registration is required to receive the link to the event. Those interested in playing should go to boylepublib.org/virtualtrivianight to sign up.
Another upcoming virtual event for adults is “Grown-up Game Night” on Monday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. The game night will be hosted using Jackbox party games with communication through Discord.
Participants will need two browser windows or devices – one to communicate via Discord, and one to enter responses to games. No purchase, download, or account is necessary to participate.
Those interested in playing can register online by visiting boylepublib.org/events and selecting “Grown-up Game Night” from the events list. After registering, library staff will send out links to the chat channel as well as instructions on joining the games. Any questions about the event can be directed to Caleb Conover at the library.

Children’s Services Librarian Libby McWhorter will offer “Storytime in the Garden” on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. in the Reading Garden at the library during the remaining three weeks in October.
