Amy McGrath (D), candidate for U.S. Senate against Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R), made a stop at Pioneer Playhouse in Danville on Oct. 28 for a Boyle County Early Vote Meet & Greet and gave a speech. This was an official campaign event, according to an event description, where McGrath spoke on her plans “to rebuild Kentucky.”

Other Democratic candidates Hank Linderman, who is running for U.S. House of Representatives in Kentucky’s 2nd district against Brett Guthrie (R), and Lydia Coffey, who is running for Kentucky House of Representatives in the 54th district against Daniel Elliott (R), also spoke at the event.

During her speech, McGrath spoke of the importance of not getting rid of the Affordable Care Act and instead making it better, the importance of rural broadband, raising the minimum wage, providing universal pre-K, providing paid family leave, tackling racial injustice and education gaps and other issues she has emphasized in her campaign.
