Cook questions Danville Christian Academy lawsuit

Recently, the Advocate reported a local, private Christian school sued Governor Beshear so they may hold in-person classes. The basis of the lawsuit claims Beshear is “violating the free exercise of religion and freedom to peacefully assemble”. I’m struggling to understand how faith and religious adherence compels them to prioritize their rights over the health and safety of the community beyond their doors. We can all agree students have a better learning experience in-person but whose life is worth the risk? Those who do not follow state and CDC guidelines are committing acts of wanton endangerment.
