Meeting to discuss housing needs

The Women’s Network Boyle County Chapter is having a public meeting to discuss affordable, transitional and emergency housing needs in the area at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec.8 via Zoom. Special guest speakers will be Tim Kitts who is director of Danville Housing Authority, and Roger Fox of the Shepherd’s House.

In our area, affordable housing is in short supply for low income households. Transitional and emergency housing is badly needed, but almost non-existent.

However, the Emergency Housing Committee is a local group, led by Fox, was formed to work on these issues. In addition, the Housing Authority recently received a grant, which is a small beginning to meet the need. These gentlemen share their knowledge related to the shortfall in affordable housing resources, the transitional and emergency housing envisioned, and the community support required for its development.

Alane Mills is our host and moderator. For more information on how to join the Zoom meeting call 859-236-9305.
