Neoma Peavey

1927 – 2020

Anna Neoma Frances Phillips Peavey of Liberty known by her friends as Snooks, passed away at her home on Tuesday December 29, 2020. She was 93. Born in Boyle Co., KY on February 25, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Morgan and Etta Belle Case Phillips. She was the widow of James Evan Peavey.
Before marrying, she worked as a telephone operator in Danville, then later as a teacher’s aide at Douglas Elementary School in Liberty. She was a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Glenn Evan (Kristy) Peavey of Louisville and John Phillips (Jennifer) Peavey of Liberty, one daughter, Melanie Ann Williams of Liberty. Eight grandchildren, Roberta Peavey, Gene (Kim) Peavey, Rachael (Sid) Chhabria, Micah Peavey, Kim (Jeremy) Hudson, Jeff (Katy) Ewalt, Erin (Brad) Cummings and Morgan (Derek) Dean. Sixteen great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband was her step-mother Mamie Phillips, four brothers, Samual, Dwaine, Elwood and Alfred Phillips, one sister Mildred Phillips Durrett, two step-brothers Glenn and Robert Singleton, a son-in-law Chuck Williams and a grandson Robert Peavey.
Visitation will be held 1:00 P.M. Sunday January 3rd, 2021 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday January 3rd, 2021 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Dwight Coffman and Bro. Damian Phillips officiating. Burial will be in the Peavey Cemetery.
