1954 – 2021

Ralph Daniel “Danny” Hafley of Hustonville won his battle against cancer on Saturday, January 2, 2021. He was surrounded by his loving family when he gained his heavenly body. Born March 22, 1954, Danny was 66 years old. Danny leaves behind a huge family that will miss him dearly, including his loving wife of 49 years, Carolyn Goode Hafley, 2 children who loved and admired him, Angie Ferrell and Troy Hafley, and a son-in-law, Doug Todd. Danny is survived by 2 beautiful sisters, whom he had protected all his life, Vicky (Ed) Hasty and Peggy Maddox. He also leaves behind 3 precious grandchildren whom he adored and who looked up to him as a “father figure”: Meghan (Sam) New, Michaela (Jacob) Taylor, and Jody Robertson. Danny will also be dearly missed by 6 great-grandchildren who also cherished him: Macy New, Jazzarail Taylor, Blake Taylor, Jaxon “Boom Boom” New, Aiden “Taco” Taylor, and Greyson “Grady” New. He is also survived by his loving pet, Bella, and 2 lifelong best friends, Carroll Leigh and Billy Goode. Danny is preceded in death by his treasured parents, Ralph E. Hafley and Jean Dowell Walker Hafley. He is also preceded in death by his “best friend in the whole wide world,” his pet boxer, Lexus. Visitation will be Friday, January 8, 2021 from 5:00-9:00 p.m., with Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home in Moreland, KY with Bro. Bud Stidham and Bro. Shirley Denson officiating. Burial with balloon release will follow at Hustonville Cemetery with full military rights as he was a Vietnam Veteran and served with the United States Army. Gifts of sympathy may be made as donations to either of Danny’s favorite charities: Shriner’s Hospital or Boyle County Animal Shelter.
