Mildred Greer Collins Kirby, age 99, of Waynesburg , Kentucky, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 at her residence. Born Tuesday, May 17, 1921 in Casey County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Levi and Lourena Burke Greer. Mildred was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener, was a Charter Member of Eastern Star and loved her family dearly. Mildred leaves behind two sons, John Collins (Suzan) of South Africa and Irvin Collins of Waynesburg; two daughters, Kay Hensley of Stanford, Kentucky and Ann Belcher (Mike) of Waynesburg; ten grandchildren; Ellen Collins (Brent), Karen Brady (John), Kristie Rivers (Michael), Cara Barthelette (Greg), Jennifer Monroe (Carlton), Megan Garrison, Jon Collins (Cristal), Phil Collins and Candice Hensley (Julian); ten great grandchildren; and one daughter-in-law, Janice Collins. In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her two husbands, Ruben Collins and William “Bill” Kirby; two sons, Paul Collins and Dale Collins; one grandchild, Adam Smith; seven brothers, Curtis Greer, Don Greer, Creed Greer, Dorwin Greer, Victor Greer, Kermit Greer and Moses Greer; four sisters, Viola Morgan, Vina McAninch, Opal Miller and Drusilla Garner. A Public Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Thursday, January 14, 2021, at Double Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Brad King officiating the service. Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery. Julian Wall, Jimmy Alford, Irvin Collins, Jon Collins and Mike Belcher will serve as Active Pallbearers. Jesse Manning and Sherrill Mullins will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. A Public Visitation will be held 6-8PM Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at the church. PLEASE NOTE: Due to COVID -19 regulations, masks must be worn by all in attendance for the Public Visitation and the Funeral Service; and social distancing guidelines must be followed.
