Leo Sinkhorn

1962 – 2021

Leo Sinkhorn, Jr., 58, died Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. He was born in Danville on August 20, 1962 to Doris Marie Anderson Sinkhorn and the late Leo “Corky” Sinkhorn Sr. Leo graduated from Boyle County High School in 1980 where he was a member of the Boyle County High School Choir. Leo was a Mason and a member of the Franklin Lodge No. 28 F & AM. He had a love of music and was known for his talent for singing. Leo was a longtime member of the Junction City First Baptist Church and sang in the Praise Team. He was also a member of the Junction City Fire and Rescue for a number of years. Leo was a jack of all trades and had several jobs throughout his lifetime. He worked at Arnold’s Glass and at Triangle Mart for several years. He loved meeting and getting to know everyone. He worked for the Boyle County School system in the transportation dept. for many years and retired from the Burgin School System this past year as the Maintenance and Transportation Director. Over the last two years, Leo has been working on obtaining a degree in Mortuary Science at John A. Gupton College in Nashville and was due to graduate soon. He has been a part of the Stith Funeral Home family for the past 30 years. He was a collector of anything and everything (junk) and was always “tinkering” and trying to fix things. Leo showed his love for his family and friends. He would always want a hug and say something to make you smile.

In addition to his Mother, Leo is survived by his wife, Kathleen Ann Miller Sinkhorn of Junction City; his son Alan (Taylor Thompson) Sinkhorn; his daughter Erika (Devon Holloman) Sinkhorn of Richmond; his two sisters, Sandie (Randy) Wells and Sheila (Darin) Horton, both of Junction City, and a proud uncle of many nieces, nephews, and neighbors.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City. A Masonic service will be at 3 p.m., Tuesday prior to visitation conducted by the Franklin Lodge No. 28 F & AM. A private funeral service will be on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. Rev. Choe Sargent will officiate. Memorial donations are suggested to Backpack Kids (PO Box 802) Danville.
