1954 – 2021

Bishop Larry D. Weathers, Sr. was born on February 11, 1954 in Boyle County, Kentucky to the late Evangelist Kate Johnson and the late Johnny Johnson. On the early afternoon of Tuesday, January 19, 2021, Bishop Weathers, Sr. received the call to return back to His Heavenly Father. Although unexpected to us, God in His infinite and divine wisdom knew that Bishop Weathers’ work was done on this side of eternity.Bishop Larry D. Weathers, Sr. was ordained to serve in the kingdom of God as a prolific preacher, anointed teacher and the proud Pastor and Founder of Vision Church of Holiness, Inc. His humility and obedience to the voice of God yielded 43 years of faithful service to the work of the Lord. Bishop Weathers was the Pastor of Church of God of America, Inc. (headquarters church in Danville, KY) for 24 years and faithfully served as the Pastor of Vision Church of Holiness, Inc. for nearly 19 years.Bishop Larry D. Weathers, Sr. was a man of integrity, loyalty, order and faithfulness. He never wavered in upholding the standard of holiness. As a successful businessman and owner of Weathers’ Insurance Agency for over 30 years, Bishop Weathers reached beyond the church and developed lifelong friendships with individuals from all walks of life. His love for God was made evident in his service to all mankind.Bishop Larry D. Weathers, Sr. is survived by his adored wife and best friend, First Lady Rhonda Weathers, 5 children: Pastor Larry (Eboney) Weathers, II, Dr. Evangelist Yolanda Weathers, Angela Weathers, Evangelist Melinda Weathers and Jason (Devan) Weathers, I; 4 grandchildren Alexis, Larry III, Jason Jr., Layla); 2 sisters (Marjorie Payne and Pamela (Edward) Hoover) and 4 brothers (David (Eddie), Timmy Weathers, Charles Weathers, Jimmy (Melanie) Johnson) and a host of adopted children, nieces and nephews and other relatives.Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Vision Church of Holiness in Danville, KY. A walk through visitation will be 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the church.The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for all acts of kindness shown during the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved, Bishop Larry D. Weathers, Sr. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
