Kentucky legislative session to be topic of discussion

Local chapters of The Women’s  Network  and the Kentuckians for the Commonwealth are jointly sponsoring a meeting on Kentucky’s 2021 Legislative Session with speaker Jessica Hays Lucas. It will be held Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. by Zoom.  For inquiries and Zoom details, call (859) 236-9305.

Caring Friends Hope and Help Valentine event

The Caring Friends Hope and Help Widows/Widowers Ministry will be holding a drive-through Valentine Day event on Sunday, Feb. 14 from 12:30 – 1 p.m at Gethsemane Baptist Church, 123 Quisenberry Avenue, Danville. A free box lunch and gift bag will be provided. An RSVP by Friday, Feb. 12 is required. Contact Barbara Satterly at 859-583-7686 or Angie Deering at 859-516-1618. Boyle County Senior Commodity eligibility changes

The federal government requires annual recertification of income so seniors who participate in the Boyle County Senior Commodity Distribution so they need to be prepared to give their income amount at the March distribution if they didn’t at the February event.

Also, for those seniors (60+) not currently participating in the program and would like to know if they’re eligible, they may call 859-236-4700. The income guidelines for seniors have recently increased due to the pandemic and all eligible seniors are encouraged to check this out to help with their food needs.
