Emma Catherine Tucker

1933-2021

Emma Catherine Tucker, 87, died February 5, 2021 at her residence in Danville. She was born on August 14, 1933 in Harrodsburg. Emma graduated from McAfee High School and the University of Kentucky. She was the Home Economics Extension Agent with the University of Kentucky in Boyle County and retired after 38 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Mary Catherine Conder, and her brother William A. Conder.

Emma devoted herself tirelessly to her family and her community. She lived to serve others. She was an active member and supporter of the Wilderness Trail Homemakers Club, the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association, the Ruth Sunday School Class at Lexington Avenue Baptist Church, 4-H, Boyle County Band Boosters, Boyle County Basketball Boosters, and Boyle County Quarterback Club. As a passionate sports fan, you could always find her cheering on (and coaching) the Boyle County Rebels and the Kentucky Wildcats. Emma’s greatest joy, however, was her family – especially her grandchildren.

Emma is survived by her husband of 66 years, Bobby Gene Tucker; three daughters, Emma Jean (Stephen) Tamme, Bobbie Gail (Damon) Stewart, both of Danville, and Linda (Edward) Ouellette of Birmingham, Alabama; nine grandchildren, John Stephen (Tammy) Tamme, Adam Tucker (Kelly) Tamme, Grant Michael (Lindsay) Tamme, Connor Lee Ouellette, Logan Riley Ouellette, Hagen Edward Ouellette, Taylor Catherine Stewart, Cole Daron Stewart and Leah Tucker Stewart; six great-grandchildren, Tucker Tamme, Owen Tamme, Hannah Tamme, Rhylan Johnson-Tamme, Collins Tamme and Jess Michael Tamme; a sister, Mary Lou Conder of Owensboro, a brother, Edward Conder of Richmond; and a sister-in-law, Jean Conder of Shelbyville.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, February, 10, 2021 at Lexington Avenue Baptist Church with Damon Stewart officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and the honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ruth Sunday School Class and members of the Wilderness Trail Homemakers Club. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lexington Avenue Baptist Church and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday. Memorial donations are suggested to the Boyle County Education Foundation or the Bell Chime Restoration Project at Lexington Avenue Baptist Church.
