News release

On Thursday at 7:10 p.m., the Danville Police Department responded to reports of a suspicious individual operating a white minivan in the area of Arby’s. The vehicle had followed a female from the area of Danville Manor to Wal-Mart and back to the area of the Danville Manor shopping center.

Upon the arrival of police, the van began to exit the Arby’s parking lot without headlights illuminated.  Danville Police attempted a traffic stop, but the operator failed to yield.

Danville police pursued the individual to Second Street though the downtown area, where it traveled recklessly at a high rate of speed. The vehicle began traveling east on KY 34 toward Garrard County.  The subject drove to the intersection of KY 34 and US 27 in Garrard County before turning around and traveling back toward Danville.

Danville police were able to successfully deploy a tire deflation device as the vehicle continued west on KY 34.  The vehicle then turned onto Stoney Point Road where it collided with a Boyle County Sheriffs Deputy’s vehicle.

Despite the collision and a deflated front left tire, the driver continued onto Wells Landing where it eventually pulled into a driveway. The driver surrendered to police without further incident.

Zachary D. W. Ingram was taken into custody and charged with the following: failure to illuminate headlamps, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, reckless driving, no insurance, disregarding a traffic control device, fleeing/evading police first degree motor vehicle, wanton endangerment first degree, receiving stolen property $10,000 or more, stalking second degree, criminal mischief second degree, failure to signal, improper passing, and disregarding a traffic control device.

Police determined  the Dodge Caravan Ingram was operating had been taken from a family member without permission.  Ingram was lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center. No injuries were reported.  The Danville Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Boyle County Sheriffs Officer and the Garrard County Police Department.

According to the Boyle County Detention Center website, the bond amounts are $500 and $2,000.
