This week our featured pet is Olaf, a medium-sized, one-year-old Pharoah hound-shepherd mix. This smiley guy with giant ears doesn’t look like Olaf from the movie, but he is just as sweet and charming!

Our partners at Boyle County Animal Control rescued Olaf from unfortunate conditions last fall, and he’s been adopted from the humane society twice since then. Despite his rough start, Olaf is a happy dog who wants to give kisses and get warm hugs. Here’s Olaf in his own words:

“Hi, I’m Olaf! You probably remember me: I was adopted twice, but just haven’t found the perfect home. The third time’s the charm; I just know it!  I’m back in training with my buddy Logan at Greene Outdoor LLC. Logan says I’m a good boy. I just have some quirks! I sure do love being out in the country – city life isn’t for me. I need room to run and be free!

“My perfect home would be with someone who is just as active as me. I love long walks, and although I haven’t been, hiking sure does sound like a lot of fun!  Maybe even swimming! I like being the center of attention, so I need a home without children. That said, I would like to be the only dog, but I’d probably be able to coexist with a confident female dog if I can meet them beforehand.

“I develop a strong bond with my person and would do best with someone who has experience with dogs, not a first-time dog adopter. Bottom line: I’m a super special doggo who needs a super special human. This isn’t too much to ask, is it? Surely not!
