Water main repair

Danville Water Distribution Department will begin the repair of a water main leak at the intersection of Maple Avenue and W. Lexington Avenue beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 9. While  repairs are being made, the intersection will be completely closed to traffic. If you have any questions,  please contact the City of Danville Water Treatment Plant at 859-238-1241.

Danville schools to schedule in-person preschool screenings

The Mary G. Hogsett Primary School will be having preschool screenings on March 31, April 21 and May 12. To schedule an appointment call 859-936-8563. You must bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate, proof of residency in the Danville District, up-to-date Kentucky immunization certificate and verification of income.

A child who meets the following guidelines is eligible for preschool:

• Lives in the Danville District.

• Is 4 years old on or before Aug. 1.

• Falls under federal income guidelines.

• Or, 3 or 4 years old who has been diagnosed as special need.

A limited number of halftime and full-time tuition spots are available for $48 for halftime, and $90 per week full-time.
