Upon arrival, officers quickly located the alleged perpetrator’s vehicle in the ATM drive through. Officers ordered the male driver out of the vehicle and detained him. During the investigation, officers determined the perpetrator identified as Jaylien Darnele Leavell Johnson, 22, of Danville. He had been parked in front of the bank next to the victim’s vehicle.

Johnson accused the victim of looking in his direction, prompting Johnson to get out of his vehicle armed with a small handgun. Johnson manipulated the weapon by cocking the slide and putting a round into the chamber. Johnson began making threats and pointing the weapon in the direction of the 18-year-old male victim.

Before the incident escalated further, the victim was able to leave the scene in his vehicle but return after the arrival of police. Johnson was arrested and charged with wanton endangerment, first degree, and lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center. Officers recovered a 25 caliber Luger pistol from Johnson’s vehicle.

Johnson’s bond was set at $5,000, according to the Boyle County Detention Center website.
