Officers responded to Dillehay Street and found evidence indicating a shooting had taken place. Danville Police Department detectives responded to the scene to interview Coulter and process the scene of the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.

Assistant police chief Glenn Doan said based on information gathered, the altercation happened after Coulter was accused of committing a theft of money, and at this point, the police department is still interviewing and following up with witnesses. No arrest has been made currently, Doan said, and the department will release further information after they identify what “exactly” has occurred.

The injuries sustained by Coulter are considered non-life threatening, and Doan said he was treated and released Sunday.
