After celebrating the seven-year anniversary of Carmel Visual Arts in Carmel, California, Rich Brimer and Carol Henry founded The Art Distillery in December 2019, in a beautifully restored 1871 manor house, the Wildflower Ranch Inn. The concept of their all-inclusive art destination is to host art workshops and exclusive creative experiences in a newly restored bed & breakfast with accommodations for artist attendees.

With the unprecedented challenges of 2020 affecting travel and gatherings, Rich and Carol delayed several programs which they had eagerly planned on launching. However, they were able to reach out to the local community and host several sold-out social painting events during the summer months of 2020. The Art Distillery will continue to host a wide variety of art, craft, and photography workshops open to the public. In addition, the newly created café serves local lunches, allowing patrons to enjoy the duo’s art as well as their culinary skills.

Their true creative expertise is wide-ranging. Rich Brimer is a landscape painter and instructor who specializes in rich-hued oils representing water and atmosphere, as well as a seasoned workshop coordinator. Carol Henry is a well-known camera-less photographer and exhibition curator who is passionate about mentoring female photographers in particular. Her Kentucky curatorial debut will be an exhibition later this year for Louisville Photo Biennial, which she will place in Springfield.

Join these professional artists as they talk about what the future holds for them, just 30 miles from the Art Center of the Bluegrass. This is a free virtual program and will be conducted via Zoom. Pre-registration is required and may be completed at www.artcenterky.org/adult-classes.
