• “They All Came Tumbling Down” Murder Mystery Kit

Beginning on Monday, April 26, the library will offer “They All Came Tumbling Down,” a new take-home murder mystery kit. In this mystery, an elderly woman is found deceased at the bottom of her stairs. Initially thought to be a tragic accident due to her advanced age, a keen-eyed mortician has identified a clue that points toward murder. Pick up a kit and try to solve the case. Kits are available in the library lobby while supplies last (one kit per household).

• Grow Your Own Microgreens

This month the library is partnering with the Boyle County Cooperative Extension Office to bring patrons “Grow Your Own Microgreens.” Microgreens are a crop that can be grown anywhere there is a window. These easy-to-grow baby plants can go from seed to your plate in less than 14 days, require no fertilizer, and can give any dish a little spice or color. They can also give your meals a boost of added nutrition.

Free kits will be available for pickup at the library and the Extension Office beginning Monday, April 26, while supplies last. The kits will contain most of the materials and seed needed to grow your own microgreens.

An instructional tutorial video will feature Horticulture agent Alexis Sheffield, and will premiere on April 26 at 1 p.m. on the library’s YouTube channel. This program is designed for ages 9 and up.

• DIY Friday

On Friday, April 30 at 5 p.m. the library will offer DIY Friday, a virtual program that aims to teach basic and advanced do-it-yourself tasks taught by a DIY veteran. This month Allen Arth will present “Dutch Oven Cooking Over an Open Fire.” The tutorial video will premiere on the library’s YouTube channel. Previous DIY Friday episodes are also available to watch.

Information about these and all upcoming events can be found online at BoylePubLib.org. The library is open Monday-Friday, 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.. In addition, free WiFi is available in the library parking lot 24/7. Chat with library staff using the live chat service on the library’s website or by texting (859)-545-8398.
