Thank you, teachers!

Over the course of the past year, things have gotten… difficult for everyone. It’s easy to complain about how hard it has been, but I don’t want to do that. I want to praise the group of people who’ve worked twice as hard as they would normally: the teachers.
As a senior at Danville High School, I know for a fact that the teachers at my school have had a more difficult year than me.
First of all, when we first shut down, they were barely given any time to provide work for us students for the two weeks we were supposed to be off. Then, school was out for the rest of the year and all our teachers had to figure out how to teach students remotely.
When we came back to school, all of the teachers had to learn to teach virtually. Virtual learning was not fun for anyone, and the teachers had to deal with that challenge, along with still trying to get these disinterested students to learn.
Hybrid schedules brought new challenges, as there were now two groups of students in each class. One virtual, one in person. I’m honestly amazed the classes were as successful as they were.
I cannot express my gratitude for my teachers enough. Teachers already have a hard time, but this year was extra challenging. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
