Newspaper apologizes for photo placement error

Published 10:04 am Friday, May 28, 2021

An error occurred in the Tuesday, May 25, 2021, issue of The Advocate-Messenger.
An incorrect photograph was printed with a story titled “Man charged with possession of stolen scooter, drugs, and other items.” An image that was supposed to portray Tyson Perrin, the person charged in relation to the crimes in this story, was accidentally replaced due to a computer file processing error. Due to this error, an image of James Ross, who was also pictured in a nearby story on the same page, appeared in the space that should have featured a photo of Perrin.

The Advocate-Messenger immediately corrected the error in our e-edition. The version of the story posted on our website never contained the error.

We have spoken multiple times in person with Mr. Ross to discuss the error and offer our deepest apologies.

A printed version of this correction and apology is planned for the Tuesday, June 1, 2021, issue of The Advocate-Messenger.

Again, we regret this error and apologize to Mr. Ross.
