Replacement to begin for bridge in Perryville

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that the bridge over the Chaplin River on US 68/150 is being replaced.

The project was awarded to Jave LLC on May 3 for the amount of $1,387,142.66. Work began Monday, June 7, with an anticipated completion date of Thursday, Oct. 14.

Barrier walls and traffic control was set up on Monday and the removal of the bridge will begin.

One lane will remain open with temporary signals in place.

Wide load trucks will need to take the posted detours (signage is in place) to avoid the construction site with reduced lane width.

All work, and closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather, emergencies, and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
