Completion of the bridge construction over Chaplin River is Oct. 14. The bridge project has been in the making for about 14 years, back when the first portion of money was allocated to reconstruction of the bridge. What is in the works on this state road project is the removal of two 5-foot sidewalks on either side of the bridge and building an 8-foot-wide pedestrian bridge on the south side, next to east-bound lane of the bridge, and removing and replacing the decking on the bridge. Drivers in the area are still experiencing delays as traffic alternates in the one lane that is currently open. – Photos by Jeff Moreland
