The Rebels were surrounded by steep competition from powerhouse 5A band Madison Central to state contender 3A band Estill County.

The contest itself was designated as a preliminary and finals competition. Boyle County, a class 3A band consisting of 45 members, won 2nd place Saturday afternoon in class preliminary competition.  In addition, the Rebels were awarded Best Percussion and Best Color Guard.

Later that evening the top ten scoring bands competed under the lights for the classic title. The Marching Rebels were pleased with their performance,  earning a 4th place overall finish in finals competition.

With their first competitive performance in over two years, Band Director Zack Shelton was very excited about the outcome. “It was a great day! We competed proudly and came in with high hopes and successfully fulfilled those expectations”

The Marching Rebels will be on the road once again, competing this Saturday at Taylor County.
