Sylvia Adrine Tharpe, 95, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021. She was born in Boyle County, Kentucky on June 11, 1926, a daughter of the late Jesse Tharpe, Sr. and Nellie Broughton Tharpe.
Sylvia was a member of the Baptist faith and was a member of Doctors Fork Baptist Church in her younger years. She was always a faithful Christian ready to lend a hand or help someone in need. She enjoyed reading her Bible and being with her family. She had a contagious sense of humor and was always funny and outgoing.
Survivors are two siblings, Mildred Underwood, Duke Tharpe and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Lucille Tharpe, Wilma Lucas, Violet Jepsen and two brothers, Everett Tharpe and Jesse Tharpe, Jr.
There will be a graveside service at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Perryville with David Walden officiating.
Services are under the direction of Walden Funeral Home Perryville.
