Fall Break Fun Kit

Beginning Oct. 1, the library will offer Fall Break Fun Kits, providing fun activities for youth to do at home. Each kit contains three fall-themed crafts with all supplies included. Pick up a kit, then follow along to watch our librarians demonstrate how to make the crafts in a video on the library’s YouTube channel. Crafts can be done by most youth ages. The free kits will be available starting Friday, Oct. 1, while supplies last. Kits may be picked up in-person or by using our curbside pickup service. Call the library at 859-238-7323 to ask for a kit using curbside pickup and it will be set out in the rotunda for you.

Preschool Storytime

Join Ms. Libby under the canopy for storytime on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. Each week we will read stories and have a craft kit available for pick up, while supplies last. Storytime will be held in person in the library parking lot, as well as virtual videos on Oct. 12 and Oct. 26. The themes for October storytimes are apples, owls, and Halloween. Preschool Storytime will be held in the library park. Masks are encouraged. (Ages 2-5)

Dino Tracks

Come decorate the sidewalks around the library with dinosaur tracks on Tuesday, Oct. 5 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Use the sidewalk chalk and stencils to make a variety of dinosaur footprints, and add your own creations as well. Masks are encouraged. Program will be canceled if it rains. (All youth ages)

Dino Egg Toss

On Thursday, Oct. 7 from 1:30-3:30 p.m., youth and families are invited to enter the splash zone and play games with water balloon dino eggs. See who can toss them the farthest apart without dropping the water balloons, aim to hit targets, and more. Masks are encouraged. Dress for water games. This event will be held in the library park. (All youth and families)

Teen “Dino” Egg Painting

On Thursday, Oct. 7 at 6:00 p.mm, teens are invited to paint in a new way by throwing paint-filled “dino” eggs at a canvas. This event will be held in the library parking lot. Masks are encouraged. (Ages 13-18)

Dr. Falk’s Fossil Talk

As part of our Dinosaur Discovery exhibit, on Thursday, Oct. 7 at 6 p.m., the library will host a talk on paleontology and fossils led by Centre College Professor, Dr. Amanda Falk. This event will be held in the community room. Masks are required. (Ages 18+)
