Larry Kent Stone, 74, of Versailles passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. A Lexington native, Larry was the devoted husband to Margie (nee Hillard) for 53 years and the loving father to two sons. Larry served in the United States Army from 1969-1971 attaining the rank of Sargent and was a proud veteran. Larry worked for Central Kentucky Agricultural Credit Association and retired as President and CEO in 2009. A man of Christian faith, Larry served on various Committees at Calvary Baptist Church, later becoming a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church on Pasadena Drive.
Larry is survived by his wife Margie, his son Rev. Jeffrey Stone (Julie) of Noblesville, Indiana, and his sister Charlotte Faye Stone of Georgetown. Larry was the proud grandfather of Emma, Arden, and Donovan Stone of Versailles and Caleb and Abigail Stone of Noblesville, Indiana. He is preceded in death by his parents Elzie and Sarah (Newkirk) Stone and by his son Justin Stone formerly of Lexington.
Visitation was at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 3421 Harrodsburg Road, Lexington, Kentucky on Thursday, October 7, from 5-8 pm. Funeral services were held on Friday, October 8 at 10 am at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 516 Pasadena Drive, Lexington, followed by Internment at Lexington Cemetery.
