David Edwin Voss, 77

On Friday, October 8, 2021, David Edwin Voss, loving father of 3 children, passed away peacefully at the age of 77 at Baptist Health in Lexington, KY. David was born on February 23, 1944, in St. Paul, MN to Edwin and Marcella Voss and lived in Danville, KY for the last 36 years. After graduating from Alexander Ramsey High School in Roseville, MN in 1962, he pursued a degree in education from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota. David worked much of his adult life at Whirlpool Corporation/Panasonic Home Appliance Company – first in St. Paul, MN and then in Danville, KY, – where he eventually retired. He was a long-time member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Danville and was a kind, loving person who spent much of his time volunteering and giving back to his community, church, and others. David was very physically active and an avid athlete most of his life. He loved playing various sports including racquetball, tennis, and golf, and enjoyed fishing. One of his favorite hobbies was washing his cars, which he did several times per week. David was preceded in death by his father, Edwin, and his mother Marcella as well as his brother James. He is survived by his three children, Michael Voss (Brandi) of Nicholasville, KY, Kathryn Voss of Louisville, KY and Paul Voss (Robin) of Danville, KY, as well as three grandchildren, Maizie, Caydon, and Jona, a brother, Steve Voss of St. Paul, MN, and a sister, Sue Schafhauser of Woodbury, MN, several nieces and nephews and his special friend Donna Elam of Danville, KY. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 21 at 4 PM at First Christian Church, 555 E. Lexington Ave., Danville, KY, with a reception immediately following the service.
