Boyle County Fiscal Court makes appointments to the Economic Development Authority

Boyle County Fiscal Court met Friday, Oct. 15 in special session to appoint the first members to the Danville-Boyle County Economic Development Authority.

In collaboration with the city of Danville, former Centre College President John Roush was named Chairman and President of the EDA.

Judge Executive Howard P Hunt, III said, “Not only does Dr. Roush bring a wealth of experience in the growth and development of Centre College, but he presents a remarkable level of International reach in this global economy. We cannot think of a more qualified and deserving member of our community to help establish a new approach toward economic development in Boyle County.”    

David Williams was named as the county’s “at-large” member.  Williams is president and co-founder of Burkman Nutrition and is a leader and innovator in the Kentucky agriculture community.

“Dr. Williams has a successful history in organizational development and management as well as agricultural development,” Hunt said. “He brings a wealth of knowledge to the group and champions the important connection between agriculture and manufacturing in Kentucky.”

In addition to these appointments, Hunt said he will select one magistrate to serve on the EDA, as permitted by Kentucky Revised Statute and the city/county ordinances. All members, including president/chairman are unpaid, volunteer positions.
