Edward Sherrill Arnold Sr., born on July 26, 1932 in Danville, KY to Susie White and Marion Francis Arnold Sr., Eddie died on Sun. Oct. 10. A ‘51 New Albany, IN graduate, he served in the Navy (‘51-’59), serving as Quartermaster during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged as a decorated DAV in ‘59. He was commissioned a Kentucky Colonel in 1981. He was married to Nila Ruth Grow from 1954 until her death in 1997. In Louisville (1959-1973) Eddie worked for the Louisville Lumber & Millwork Co, and Fischer’s Packing Co. After moving to Garrard County, he worked at Parsons Beef Co. and The Melville Corp. (Thom McAn Shoes), both in Danville (1973-1993). He is predeceased by his wife, parents, sister Lorene Frances, brothers Clyde Coffee, William “Bill” Garnett, and Marian F. Jr. He is survived by his sister, Mary Houston McKercher, brother John Mark (Betty Ruth), all of New Albany; children: Iris Camille (Bob) Novak, St. Louis, MO, Robert Butler, Stanford Ky, Alison Lynn, Lexington Ky, and Edward S. (Virginia), Jr., Berea Ky; six grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Wilma Duncan Grow Miller, Dale TX;, nephews Stacy Butler (Ruthie) Grow and Troy Robert (Lashonna) Grow, all Garrard Co., Shane & Shon Grow, Perryville, plus additional nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
