Steven Shafer, 37

Steven Shafer, 37, died October 19, 2021, in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born August 13, 1984, in Douglasville, Georgia, son of Richard and Linda Shafer. Steven worked in Quality Assurance for Staples. His perfect day consisted of waking up early, going to the Boyle County Farmers Market where he loved to visit and enjoy the people. Family was important to Steven and he cherished every moment he had with them. Steven loved listening to Opera, and had an immense talent for singing Opera as well. He is predeceased by his brother, Richard Shafer.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his husband, Daniel Collier; father-in-law, Mark (Lorrie) Collier; mother-in-law, Mary Suzanne (Richard) Gomez; a sister-in-law, Rachel (Christian) Key; two brother-in-law’s, Lee (Jennifer) Collier, and Joe Caleb (Morgan) Payne; and seven nieces and nephews, Jacob Shafer, Richard Shafer, Renlee Key, Lincoln Collier, Ashton Collier, Evelyn Collier, and Shelby Payne.
A gathering of friends was held, Monday, October 25, 2021 at Stith Funeral Home in Danville. Steven was able to be an organ donor, his heart and organs have saved others lives. The online guestbook and Hugs from Home program are available at www.stithcares.com
