Roxie Ann Bare Bennett, 61, of Danville went home on Saturday, October 30, 2021. Born September 22, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Warren and Mary Ratliff Bare. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Sonny and Freddy. Roxie was a life-long United Methodist and a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Danville. She was presently co-chairman of the Missions Team and led the G.L.O.W. Kids Ministry at Centenary. Roxie founded Centenary’s G.L.O.W. Kids chapter (Go Love Others in the World) for preschoolers and kindergartners to be involved in real missions. Over the last five years, these children impacted 434 lives. She has worked with children and youth for over 40 years. She was a guiding hand, a respected teacher, and a shining light. Roxie taught how to be faith in action, how to love people behind the scenes without any credit, how to love the people that everyone else avoided, and how to be Jesus with skin on. Roxie loved to cook, cater, and put on “theme parties” for any event and for anyone. She continued to serve others even when her health was failing and always tried to put other’s needs before her own. Living her faith and doing for others gave her a sense of purpose and brought joy to her life. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Pat Bennett; daughter, MaryWarren Bennett (Jacob Sizemore) of Lexington; son, Patrick and daughter-in-law, Kaela Bennett of Danville; grandchildren, Arabella and Harper Bennett, who loved their Yia-Yia dearly; and Linda (Tom) Lohmann of Bowling Green who was like a sister to her. Visitation is 3-8 pm, Thursday at Centenary United Methodist Church, 1441 Perryville Rd, Danville, KY. Her Funeral Service will be at 11 am, Friday at the church. Burial will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Bullitt County. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Centenary’s Children Ministry – https://kids.danvillecumc.org or Operation Christmas Child –https://occ.danvillecumc.org.
