Briggs Swift Cunningham III, 89, passed away peacefully of natural causes Tuesday night September 28, 2021 in his home. Born June 13, 1932 in New York City, New York to the late Briggs S Cunningham Jr. and Lucie Bedford Warren. He graduated from Yale University with a degree in Economics and spent four years in the US Navy. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by a sister Lucie Mckinney. Briggs was a Dad, a Friend, an entrepreneur, a benefactor, avid sports fan, accomplished Angus breeder, amongst other things to many people. He is survived his wife of 55 years Elizabeth (Beth) his 8 children, Marcia, Cecily, Briggs, Thomas, Paige (Mark), Brian, Robert (Janey) and Blair (Adam) and his sister Lynn Maddock. He has 7 grandchildren: Lucie, Windsor, Riley, Mace, Olivia, Warren and Exton. A celebration of life will take place 4 p.m. to 7pm , November 13, 2021 at Briggs’ cabin on Cliffside Farm. He will be buried at a private ceremony at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
