This week’s featured pets are Nacho and Elsa.

Do you want to build a snowman? Our Elsa can’t help you (no opposable thumbs), but she’ll be by your side whether you’re romping in the snow or relaxing by the fire. Elsa is approximately two years old and came to the shelter as a stray.

No one claimed her, so now Elsa is ready to show herself, step into her power, and grow herself into something new.

Elsa is a warm and friendly gal who loves belly rubs, squeaky toys, basking in the sunshine, and tasty treats. She’s got a cute, stocky build and the best head tilt ever. And, like her namesake, she has a brave spirit and takes life’s challenges in stride. Once you’ve met Elsa, she’ll steal your heart and never let it go.

Nacho is a 7-month-old beagle mix whose owner had an abrupt change in living situation. Nacho’s sister found a new loving home through the direct placement site dbchs.home-home.org, and Nacho is still looking.

According to his previous human, Nacho is “an excellent dog, energetic and friendly. He does well with my kids including my three-year-old who has special needs”.

Shelter life is tough on even the most easygoing pup, and Nacho was nervous and quiet at first, unsure of his new surroundings. Now that he’s settled in a bit, we can tell he is all that and a bag of tortilla chips, too!

Nacho loves giving kisses, getting snuggles, and being adorable in general. Bring this little snack into your life, and you’ll undoubtedly be satisfied.

Research shows that, like Nacho, most animals experience high levels of stress in a shelter setting. DBCHS is looking for short-term foster homes for Thanksgiving and Christmas so every homeless pet can spend the holidays in the comfort of a warm home.
