DUI, other charges stem from Thursday night crash

Danville Police responded to the intersection of Daniel Drive and the Danville Bypass just after 7 p.m. Thursday night for reports of an injury traffic collision.

According to a report from the Danville Police Department, statements obtained at the scene indicated that a 2021 Honda SUV driven by Teresa Grizzell, 48, of Danville, may have been traveling the wrong way, westbound in the eastbound lanes, on the Danville Bypass.

The vehicle reportedly turned in front of a 2000 Ford pickup driven by James Bradshaw, 66, of Brodhead, who was traveling eastbound on the bypass. The collision occurred at the intersection.

Emergency crews treated Bradshaw and his passenger, Jeleta Bradshaw, at the scene and later transported them via ambulance to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center for further treatment. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.

Grizzell was treated on the scene but refused medical assistance or ambulatory transport. She was subsequently charged with driving under the influence, first offense with aggravated circumstances; reckless driving, and wanton endangerment 2nd degree.

Officer Hobie Daugherty is handling the investigation. Danville City Fire and Boyle County EMS also responded to assist at the scene.
