North Garrard Family Medical Center welcomes Matthew Abel, M.D., to the practice.  Beginning on Jan. 3, Dr. Abel will join the practice with Debbie Edelen, A.P.R.N.

Dr. Abel graduated from the West Virginia University School of Medicine in 2016 and then completed his residency in 2019.  His clinical interests include care of chronic illnesses such as high blood pressure, COPD/asthma and diabetes as well as promoting wellness across the lifespan with special emphasis on preventive medicine.

Dr. Abel lives in Lancaster with his wife, Sarah, their two children, Lucas and Eden and two dogs, Roo and Albus.  In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, running, listening to music and watching collegiate sports, especially football.
