Ronald Garland, 81, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2022. He was born in Lexington, Kentucky on March 17, 1940, to the late Thelma May Reed and William D. Garland. Ronald was also the husband of 60 years to the late Norma Lou Elliott Garland.
Ronald served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Perryville Church of God. He was a supervisor at Central Screw for 23 years. Ronald enjoyed doing anything outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, and camping. Most of all, Ronald loved his family.
Survivors include a son, Jeff (Melinda) Garland, 7 grandchildren, Jantzen Garland, Meagan Wood, James Garland, Amanda Garland, Derick Olson, Daniel Clarkson, Ted Clarkson, and his twin brother, Donald (Marie) Garland. Also surviving are 8 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his late wife Norma, Ronald is preceded in death by three children, William Garland, Rhonda (Eric) Olson, and Kim Hargraves, a brother, John Daniel Garland, and a sister, Juanita (Lowell) Wyatt.
Pallbearers are Steve Martin, Jeff Hudson, Scott Perry, Danny Garland, Daniel Clarkson, and Kevin Garland.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Walden Funeral Home with Donald Garland officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Perryville. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m., Saturday until the time of the service.
