Boyle County hosted hundreds of archers Friday and Saturday in the Boyle County Rebel Classic, one of two tournaments the program is hosting this season.
More than 530 high school, middle school, and elementary school archers from 28 schools were scheduled to shoot in the tournament, including competitors from Boyle County, Garrard County, Lincoln County, and Mercer County schools, and Danville Christian.
The tournament, which was held for the eighth year, serves as a state qualifying tournament and as a fundraiser for the Boyle program, which has about 85 archers at the three school levels.
Mercer County finished first in the high school division — one week after Boyle won at Mercer’s tournament — and Boyle was second.
