The vehicle entered the parking lot of Quality Inn where officers were able to keep it from exiting. It traveled off the roadway but became stuck. Officers ordered the driver to exit the vehicle, but he would not comply, and only partially opened his door and stood between the vehicle’s cab and driver’s door.

Officers approached and had to physically take hold of the subject who resisted and verbally challenged officers.

The subject continued to resist and a taser was deployed. Officers were eventually able to gain control of the subject and place him under arrest.

Johnny Allen Baker, 46, of Danville, was arrested. Officers determined Baker was under the influence at the time of his arrest. He was lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence, fleeing or evading police 1st degree (motor vehicle); reckless driving, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct 2nd degree, possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (methamphetamine), possession of controlled substance 3rd degree (Xanax, Clonazepam), operating on a suspended license, and criminal mischief 3rd degree.
