Boyle County’s Wise wins state long jump, triple jump titles

Molly Wise of Boyle County and Matthew Mays of Mercer County each won two jumping events Saturday at the unofficial indoor state track and field championships in Louisville.

Wise won the Class 2A girls long jump and triple jump and Mays won the 2A boys long jump and triple jump in the Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association Indoor State Championships at Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center.

Jai Maria Piazza of Mercer won the 2A girls 60 hurdles.

Mays also placed third in the boys high jump.

Chase Burkhart of Garrard County placed third in all three boys jumps. His best finish was second in the high jump.
