St. Asaph Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution recently announced the recipients of the 2022 DAR Good Citizen Awards.

The DAR has recognized youth who exhibit the character traits of a Good Citizen since 1890.

These virtues include:
•Dependabilty (truthfulness, honesty, punctuality)

•Service (cooperation, helpfulness, personal responsibility)

•Leadership (kindness, personality, self-control, initiative)

•Patriotism (unselfish loyalty to American ideals).

The faculty of each high school determines the senior who will be honored with the award.

• Kailey Young, daughter of Anthony Young, is a senior at Boyle County High School, and plans on attending University of Kentucky as part of the STEM program next year. Kailey is president of the National Honor Society, active in her church, and serves as a Junior Firefighter in the Perryville Fire Department.

• Anajah Perrin, daughter of Shay Carter, is a senior at Danville High School, and plans on attending college next year and studying Elementary Education. Anajah is a peer tutor at DHS and helps with a kindergarten class at Hogsett Elementary. After school each day and on weekends she holds down a part time job at Kroger.

• Kiefer Howland, son of Meagan Howland, is a senior st Dsnville Christian Acafemy, and will be attending the University of Kentucky College of Design. Kiefer is the student body President at DCA, a member of the volleyball team, and church youth group.
He is taking flying lessons at Stuart Powell Firld. He attended Mission Aviation Fellowship Camp in Idaho where the mission is to reach remote places that are only accessible by air.
