Amra Boanerges, 71

Amra Boanerges, 71, died February 25, 2022, in Danville, Kentucky. Amra was a man of God. He was very proud of his family, especially his daughters and grandchildren, and loved to make people laugh. Amra was a principal dancer for several ballet companies and had a very successful dancing career. He loved music and the arts. Amra loved Hawaii. He later became a dance and physical education instructor at Centre College. Amra was locally known as the Artistic Arborist. He worked, volunteered, and beautified the grounds at Pioneer Playhouse where he created Holly’s Memorial Garden and managed Palace of Sweets. Predeceased by his parents Kenneth and Mary Ann Mraz. Amra is survived by his wife Kathryn Bankhead; four daughters Megrez Mraz, Scarlet (Jasen) Anderson, Nikiya (Joey) White, and Pomari Rose Boanerges; three stepchildren, James Soza, Robert Soza and Jona Castanon; his siblings Kristee, Karen, and Karolynn and Kurtis; a good friend and mentor Charlotte Henson; nine grandchildren, Isis, Nahiku, Jana, Waikelehua, Waiaka, Waima, Waipuni, Mayari, and Maksim. A celebration of life will be held on April 9, 2022 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm at Pioneer Playhouse. Potted plants, plantable flowers, or memorial donations are suggested to Pioneer Playhouse.
