The Advocate-Messenger is now operating at a new location.
Danville’s hometown newspaper is now doing business at 461 Building B, South Fourth Street, just down the street from the paper’s old location.
Signs for the new location will be up soon. The front entrance can be located by turning onto Dillehay Street, and it is the first parking lot on the left.
The old Advocate-Messenger office, located at 330 S. Fourth Street in Danville, is now owned by Ephraim McDowell Health.
The property is adjacent to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, with the two being separated by Figg Alley. The sale of the property was finalized in January.
“We are excited to be in our new location, where we will continue to serve the community with coverage of local news, as well as providing many advertising options for local businesses,” said Kevin Smith, publisher of The Advocate-Messenger.
A recent statement from Ephraim McDowell Health President and CEO Daniel McKay indicated that renovations will begin at the old Advocate-Messenger location. He added that the hospital has not finalized plans, but they do expect to move Ephraim McDowell Health’s engineering department to the first floor of the old newspaper building. He said the second floor could be used as office space, and some of the building could be used for retail business.
