Stallard wins state archery title

Stallard scored 295 out of a possible 300 to win by two points in a field of 240 boys at Ephram White Gymnasium. The sophomore scored a perfect 10 points on 25 of his 30 shots and had 9s on his other attempts.

Stallard becomes the second Boyle archer to win a state-level competition this season. Sophomore Hayden Martin won the high school boys division at the Kentucky National Archery in the Schools Program State Tournament last month in Louisville. Stallard tied for fifth place in the NASP event.

Alex Luster (284) finished in 39th place for Boyle, which was 12th out of 22 boys teams. Martin (279) was in 80th place.

The Boyle girls were 22nd in their competition, led by Sirenna Adams (277) in 83rd place. Maddie Hatfield (281) of Garrard County, competing individually, was in 50th place.
