Two of Central Kentucky’s oldest insurance agencies are merging.

Rightmyer Insurance Agency is merging with Sam Dexter Insurance Agency and will be operating as one under the new name Dexter & Rightmyer Insurance Agency.

Chris Rightmyer’s grandfather, E.G. Guttery, first started the agency in the 1930s. Bob Rightmyer acquired the agency in the 1970s. Chris Rightmyer joined the agency in 2003.

After a career in law enforcement, Sam Dexter started Sam Dexter Insurance Agency in 1954. Mark Dexter joined the agency in 1975.

Both agencies have deep commitments to the local community.

Chris Rightmyer and Melissa Cutter will continue to serve clients from the office located at 129 North Fourth Street. Mark Dexter, Melanie Byrant, Janice Bowling, Benito Deyo, and Kaylee Bloyd will continue to serve clients from the office located at 116 East Main Street.
