Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill is pleased to welcome back  the world-renowned musicians from New York’s Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center  (CMS) for the 14th annual Chamber Music Festival of the Bluegrass, presented by Baird Private Wealth Management. The festival will feature four performances throughout Memorial Day weekend, May 28-29, 2022.

CMS Artistic Directors David Finckel and Wu Han will present the performances in Shaker Village’s Meadow View Barn overlooking pastures and rolling hills of Kentucky bluegrass. In  addition to performing themselves, Finckel and Wu Han will be joined by six exceptional artists, all of whom are excited to be making return appearances at the festival. Chamber music fans will also enjoy two educational lectures in the Meeting House given by violinist James Thompson, open to all ticket holders, that will explore the history of pieces performed during the festival. Works presented this festival season include composers both familiar and new: Beethoven, Dvořák, Mozart, Schubert, Burleigh, Babajanian, Suk, Brahms and Chopin will all be performed. Complete music selections and artists for each concert can be viewed online at  shakervillageky.org/events/chamber-music-festival.

From CMS Co-Artistic Directors David Finckel and Wu Han: “It’s been three years since CMS has  been to our beloved Shaker Village, and we could not be more excited to finally be back. Filling  the Meadow View Barn once again with glorious chamber music, live and in person, will bring  joy to our hearts, and we hope to yours. Many thanks need to be given to Shaker Village for  making this possible and for continuing our exceptional partnership.”
